    About The School Texas Tech

    The Texas Tech University was established on the 10th of February 1923 in Lubbock, Texas. It was called Texas Technological College until 1969 and is part of the 5-institution Texas Tech University System.

    TTU has academic affiliations with Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) and the Universities Research Association (URA). It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

    After settlers arrived in West Texas around the 1880s, there was a call to open a college in the area.
