The cost estimate below is for undergraduate students attending full time over two semesters. It’ll help them to plan and understand the financial obligation that comes with being a student.
The figures shown are not officially approved (estimation purpose only). Although, the cost of estimation varies according to the school or college you are matriculated in.
However, the estimate below is based on a general cost of attendance (including Tandon School of Engineering), Stern School of Business and Tisch School of Art.
Meanwhile, there are two types of expenses at the NYU:

Borrowing and Loans
Having a better understanding on how much it will cost to attend New York University is very important, but so is borrowing only as much as you actually need.

Room and Board
The actual cost of your room and board depends on whether you live on the campus or off-campus. However, there are some important things to keep in mind as you budget for room and board:
- NYU offers a wide range of accommodation and meal plans. The estimate above represents a student living in a double-occupancy room and selecting a 225 meal per semester “flex” dining plan.
- Accommodation includes local telephone service, wi-fi access, and cable television in your room.
- NYU’s on-campus standard rate is meant to also represent the room and board cost for off-campus accommodation. Often the costs are similar.
- Off-campus accommodation in New York City is different depending on accommodation options, location, number of roommates, amenities, and more.
- NYU Students who live off-campus can also purchase meal plans.

New York University Acceptance Rate
NYU admissions are very selective with an acceptance rate of 21% (i.e for every 100 students, only 21 are admitted). Half the applicants admitted to New York University have a Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) score between 1370 and 1540 or an American College Test (ACT) score of 31 and 34.
New York University Admission Requirements
NYU is a very reputable school, and as such they are extremely selective, getting a high SAT/ACT score and GPA is very important to have a chance at getting in. If you don’t pass their SAT/ACT and GPA requirements, they’ll likely deny you admission.
To have the best shot of getting in, you should have a 3.69 GPA or higher. If your GPA is lower than this, you need to compensate with a higher Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT)/American College Test (ACT) score.
