The University of Notre Dame which is popularly known as Notre Dame or simply ND, is a private Catholic research university in Notre Dame, Indiana, in the city of South Bend. The institute was founded in the year 1842 by a French priest named, Edward Sorin.
Notre Dame is usually ranked and seen as one of the most beautiful university campuses in the States and even globally, and is known especially for its Golden Dome, the quads and the greenery, the Grotto, and its statues and museums.
